Step-by-step guide
Step 1:
Start by cutting 2 donut-shaped circles out of your cardboard. Ours have a 9cm outer diameter and a 4cm inner diameter.
Step 2:
Hold the 2 pieces of cardboard together, and carefully cut a slit into the circle. (This will allow you to wrap the yarn around the circles, and remove the cardboard more easily later on.)
Top Tip: Change the size of the finished pom pom by cutting bigger, or smaller, cardboard circles!
Step 3:
Keeping the 2 pieces of cardboard held together, with the slits lined up, wrap the yarn around the ring until the circle is full.
Why not make a multicoloured pom pom by wrapping different shades of yarn!
Step 4:
Once your cardboard template has been entirely wrapped and feels nice and plump, carefully cut through the strands of yarn between the 2 pieces of cardboard.
Step 5:
Cut a length of yarn, and tie it tightly between the 2 cardboard circles.
Step 6:
Remove the cardboard, and give your pom pom a trim to tidy it up!
